First Day of School

September 3, 2014 is the first day of school for Hussey School and Knowlton School students. This is a full day of school. We look forward to seeing you!

Lost and Found

Please check the lost and found this week if you come to the school, also please remind your child(ren) to check for items they may have lost. We will be bringing the items to a local church at the end of this week.

Remembering Amy

Help us build a memorial reading garden in memory of Special Education teacher, Amy Harris. Last April, Amy was killed in a car accident while on her way to school. Amy worked with wonderful children and their families, often sharing and celebrating daily milestones children achieved as they worked to overcome challenges in everyday life. Amy’s love and kindness was felt by everyone who knew her. Amy left behind her husband, children, her parents and sisters as well as her students and co-workers at the Vivian E. Hussey School in Berwick, Maine.

Gardens, Gardens, Gardens

School Garden:
The Berwick Elementary Schools have submitted an application for a Seeds of Change grant. The plan would be to possibly make use of the Knowlton School greenhouse to start seeds and plant a school garden. Ideally students would build the garden project to a point where we would plant crops that we could use in our school lunch program. Extra harvest and crops that would grow to fruition during the summer could be donated to the local food pantry or sold at a local farmers’ market to sustain the garden project.
